About Me:
I return follows but I would greatly appreciate it if you left a link in the comments to make it a bit easier on me.
I am running a giveaway of four YA books--there is an international component: check the giveaway out!
Q. "Name 3 authors who you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from."
A. That's a tough one. I know that I would pick Jane Austen, hands down as she is my favorite author of all time. I would also probably pick Meg Cabot, a long-time favorite of mine, and Jude Morgan, who's written some amazing Austen-esque fiction.

Q. "What’s the ONE GENRE that you wish you could get into, but just can’t?"
I'm not the biggest fan of epic fantasy-in my experience, there are loads of male characters but not many female characters (and the ones who are there are love/lust interests and don't really get to do anything) and the names don't have a good vowel to consonant ratio. Consequently I have no idea how to pronounce the names and that frustrates me. However I do love fantasy based on fairy tales and books with fantastical subjects.
I just could not do the link up at the meme so here goes. I do not like the vampire, paranormal and too much fantasy! thats three not one genre I can't get into.
ReplyDeleteThe loads of male characters don't bother me in epic fantasy. What does get me though is the sheer length of the books which then end up being part of an equally epic long series.
ReplyDeleteSince last week's pie chart about where I get my books was so popular, I thought I'd share what types of books I do read. Please stop by to see which genres I don't typically read.
Hi there, I'm hopping through.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Your blog design is so cute. I thought something was wrong with my eyes when I started scrolling down ;)
ReplyDeleteI agree with your answer. Not something I want to get into. Paranormal/Fantasy I might try with out exploiting the woman.
I guess my genre is eclectic.
Following you on GFC now.

Ooh, I love Meg Cabot's books! They're always fun to read, and she has this way of writing that makes it so easy to connect with the characters! :) She would be an awesome author to chat with, considering how many books she's published!
ReplyDeleteAwesome author picks! I'm an old follower :)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have an awesome weekend!
Hopping through. I haven't heard of Jude Morgan. Austen-esque books sound up my alley so I'll have to look him/her up.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I agree with you on epic fantasy for the reasons you said, as well as a few others (the length of the books, for example!). I almost listed it as my choice, but went with non-fiction instead.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend!
