It's been on my TBR list for awhile, so I was excited to see school "making" him read it. We have only just started, but were both definitely thrown off in the very beginning by what the horses do and where they came from!

- Jessica @ Book SakeBook Sakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01000472552375000686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530836089087964376.post-38706586647691549792012-06-09T17:58:18.183-07:002012-06-09T17:58:18.183-07:00I bought this for my Kindle when it was on sale. I do think her early books were faster paced, particularly Lament but it has been a few years since I read them so I can't be certain. Still, the mythology and the lyrical writing will likely pull me through to the end. I don't know when I will get around to reading it but it is good to know that you enjoyed it even with the slower pacing.Christina Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07756342293865115352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-530836089087964376.post-83011268896268104382012-06-09T07:14:01.831-07:002012-06-09T07:14:01.831-07:00I totally agree with you! I read Scorpio Races shortly before it was released, and around that time there was a lot of mixed reviews, mostly regarding the length of the novel and the lack of plot movement. But I thought that the way Maggie Stiefvater wrote it, it totally worked. Sure, there wasn't much action, but the characterization was so spot on that I didn't think it mattered.

Great review!
-Ashley @ What's Your Story?Ashley Delgadohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03241011799780389342noreply@blogger.com
